A good tip for the professional PPI Mentor is to have the templates enlarged on 2 sheets up to A1 size and then to have them laminated. In this way the Mentoring facilitator can write directly with dry-wipe pens onto the enlarged templates when constructing the PPI’s.



BUILDING THE PPI DOCUMENT: Template: People Performer - SLA SETTING UP THE PEOPLE PERFORMANCE LEVEL AGREEMENT



The team is to meet regularly (normally monthly, or quaterly) to review the agreed PEOPLE PERFORMANCE and build further improvements into the PPI. As the world, tasks and responsibilities and other factors change around the PPI, so the PPI needs to be continually adapted to best reflect the individuals’ world in which he/she is engaged.

The team is to report fairly on the quality of PEOPLE PERFORMANCE by bringing supportive facts, views, reports and documentation as input to the meetings. Their task – to constantly improve the quality of staff members’ performance.

To this end it is useful for the team to formulate a purpose statement as shown in the PPI template.

Try to construct a meaningful purpose statement that will serve to motivate the efforts of the individual.



Where possible, statistical reports should be made available to help support the performance reporting at the Reviews or other reporting sessions.

 
-BUILDING THE PPI DOCUMENT: Template: People Performer - Mentoring Workshop PEOPLE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS



One of the most exciting and powerful components of developing PPI’s, is the PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP. It could be seen as a way to monitor PEOPLE PERFORMANCE against the PPI. In fact, many PEOPLE PERFORMANCE Management Facilitators regard the WORKSHOP/Reviews as the most important contributor to improving PEOPLE PERFORMANCE! Some PERFORMANCE Management Facilitators prefer to first introduce a WORKSHOP/Review, and only then when it is running well, will they begin working on the production of the PPI agreement itself. There may be merit in doing it in this way because the PERFORMANCE criteria would have been sorted out by then. This would make the establishment of the PPI much easier, but first let’s find out...... “What is a PEOPLE PERFORMANCE Review?” A PEOPLE PERFORMANCE Review is a regular meeting (probably monthly, or quaterly) facilitated by a neutral party (the PEOPLE PERFORMANCE Review Mentor with the objective of measuring the performance of the staff member’s PERFORMANCE. The PEOPLE PERFORMANCE Improvement team work together then to find ways to continually improve the staff member’s PERFORMANCE. 

It is here that PEOPLE PERFORMANCE excellence is created.
